No worries that your laundries will not dry completely.
No worries of a potential rain soaking your laundries and you have to wash them again.
You already know the benefits of having a clothes dryer. However, not all items can be dried using a clothes dryer. Below are some of the items you should and shouldn’t put in your dryer.
What You Should Put in Your Dryer
The heat from the dryer has many positive effects in drying certain items and below are some of these items that you should put in your dryer.
However, do check the care instruction labels on ANY items before putting them in the dryer.
Lycra Exercise Clothes
Putting these clothing items in the dryer (under the low setting) will kill the germs and eliminate odours, leaving you fresh clothes for the next workout session!
Bedsheets
The heat from the dryer is able to kill dust mites, and your bedsheets will come out of the dryer smelling all fresh and new.
Dress Shirts
The low-heat setting of a dryer will allow your dress shirts coming out crease-free. Say goodbye to ironing your shirts!
Feather Pillows
Just like bedsheets, your pillows will come out all fresh and clean!
Jeans
Putting jeans in the dryer is a great way to quickly dry them, especially thick jeans.
Towels
The heat will kill the germs and the steam will make your towels extra soft and fluffy!
What You Shouldn’t Put in Your Dryer
While the high heat of the dryer has good effects, some items are not suitable to be dried in the dryer.
Below are some of the clothing materials that are not meant to be dried in the dryer.
Swimsuits
The high heat of the dryer can affect the spandex material of the swimsuit. This might cause the spandex to lose its elasticity over time.
Bras
Due to the delicate material nature, drying bras in the dryer will affect their shape.
Silk Clothing
Just like bras, silk clothing is delicate fabric. Drying silk clothing in the dryer will affect the shape and shine of the material.
Rubber Items
Drying natural or synthetic rubber items in the dryer will deteriorate the quality of the items. There could also be a possibility of setting the dryer on from the high heat.
Clothing with Embellishments
The high heat of the dryer may melt the rhinestones, beads or sequin on a clothing.
Leather Items
Leather items may deform due to the high heat.
Wool Items
The high heat may shrink or change the colour of the items.
Rubber Printed Shirt
The glue may dry off due to the high heat and detach the print from the shirt.
