Warranty Terms & Conditions

This warranty is granted by Rinnai (M) Sdn Bhd (“the Company”) to the original purchaser only. The Company guarantees that the product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal domestic use. Warranty fulfillment shall be executed exclusively through Rinnai Malaysia Authorized Service Agents or Dealers.

1. Scope of Warranty and Eligibility

  • Domestic Use Only: This warranty applies solely to manufacturing defects arising from standard domestic/household use.
  • Territorial Limitation: Coverage is valid only for Rinnai Malaysia appliances purchased from authorized dealers within Malaysia. Service support is strictly unavailable for products located outside of Malaysia.
  • Verification Requirements: To facilitate a claim, the customer must present the proof of purchase (i.e.: purchase invoice or receipt). The Company reserves the right to decline service if the document is unavailable. In such instances, service will be treated as out-of-warranty, and the customer shall be liable for all labour and component costs.
  • Non-Transferability: This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Coverage does not extend to any subsequent owner or transferee.
  • Commercial Exclusion: This warranty is void for appliances utilized in commercial environments (e.g., laundromats, hotels, health centers, restaurants, salons or bakeries) unless specifically stated otherwise in the product’s supplemental terms.

2. Warranty Exclusions and Voidance

The warranty shall be deemed void, or service charges (labour and parts) shall apply, under the following circumstances:

  • Identification: The serial number has been altered, defaced or removed.
  • Misuse & Damage: The appliance shows evidence of tampering, negligence, misuse or damage sustained during transit or at the customer’s premises.
  • Improper Installation: Failure to install, maintain, or operate the appliance in accordance with the manufacturer’s user guide (e.g.: incorrect power plugs, unauthorized spare parts or improper installation).
  • Unauthorized Repair: The unit has been dismantled, modified or repaired by non-authorized personnel.
  • External Factors: Defects resulting from abnormal voltage, improper generator supply, “Acts of God” (lightning, flood, natural disasters), fire, pests or civil unrest.
  • Environmental Corrosion: Damage resulting from chemical reactions, rust, excessive heat or corrosive environments (e.g.: proximity to industrial sites or the use of acidic/alkaline cleaning agents).
  • Wear and Tear: Components, accessories and external aesthetics (cabinets, joints, scratches, dents) that require replacement due to normal usage and aging.
  • Maintenance: Routine servicing, such as cleaning motors or filters, is not covered and is subject to standard service fees.

3. Limitations of Liability

  • Remedy Limitation: The Company’s liability is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of defective components. The Company shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect losses, personal injury or property damage resulting from the use or failure of the product.
  • Logistics & Accessibility: While parts and labour may be covered, the Company reserves the right to charge for transportation, courier or traveling expenses incurred for on-site service. Service may be refused if the product is installed in a location that is inaccessible or hazardous to service personnel.
  • Finality of Decision: The Company’s assessment of defects, whether regarding workmanship or material, shall be final and conclusive.

4. Repair Procedures

  • Lead Times: Repair duration may vary based on the availability of spare parts, import restrictions or global supply chain disruptions.
  • Loaner Units: The Company is under no obligation to provide a temporary replacement or “loaner” unit while the customer’s product is undergoing repair.
  • Parts Ownership: All defective parts replaced during the warranty period shall become the property of the Company. The Company may use new or reconditioned parts for replacements.

5. General Provisions

  • PDPA Compliance: By registering this warranty, the customer consents to the collection and use of their personal data by Rinnai (M) Sdn Bhd for warranty fulfillment and service tracking in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010.
  • Amendments: These Terms & Conditions are subject to change without prior notice at the sole discretion of Rinnai (M) Sdn Bhd. Non-compliance with these clauses grants the Company the right to reject any warranty claim.
